Photo Workshop: Venice Carnival 28.02-02.03 2025

What Makes This Workshop Different?
I’ve designed this experience for photographers who want more than just another tour. This is about connecting with the essence of Venice, unlocking your creative potential, and photographing the city in ways that feel uniquely your own.

Here’s what makes this journey special:
A Small, Intimate Group: With just six participants, there’s space for personal attention and creative freedom.

Access to Hidden Gems: I’ll take you to places most visitors never see—from secret spots where the masks gather to quiet corners of Venice that feel untouched by time.

The Perfect Balance: We’ll chase the best light, explore the city’s soul, and have plenty of time to share insights, techniques, and a love for photography.

Whether you’re an experienced photographer or just starting to explore your passion, you’ll feel inspired, challenged, and supported every step of the way.

The Itinerary: Three Days of Enchantment
28th February-Day One: Setting the Stage

Arrive in Venice by mid-morning, check into your hotel, and let the adventure begin. Depending on the weather, we might take a boat to Burano, an island bursting with color and charm, or stay in Venice to catch the first glimpses of Carnival costumes.

By late afternoon, the golden hour will beckon us to San Marco Square or the serene shores of San Giorgio Island. As the light fades, we’ll capture Venice’s iconic blue hour—a magical time when the city seems to glow from within.

1st March-Day Two: The Soul of Carnival

The magic begins at dawn. At 6:30 AM, we’ll be in San Marco Square, where costumed figures drift through the morning mist like living works of art. This is the Venice most people only dream of—a quiet, ethereal place that feels like it belongs to us alone.

After breakfast, we’ll explore the city’s hidden treasures. From the shadowed elegance of Teatro La Fenice to the quiet charm of the Dorsoduro district, this is your chance to capture Venice’s lesser-known beauty.

As the day draws to a close, we’ll return to photograph the Carnival costumes in the soft, romantic light of late afternoon. Over dinner, we’ll share stories, review our photos, and reflect on the moments that moved us most.

2nd March-Day Three: A Lasting Impression

Our final day begins with another sunrise session—because once is never enough. By now, you’ll know how to read Venice’s light, anticipate its moods, and connect with its magic.

After breakfast, we’ll wander through the city one last time, capturing its rhythm as it comes to life. Gondolas slicing through quiet canals, shadows dancing on ancient stone, fleeting moments that feel eternal.

The workshop concludes in the afternoon, but the inspiration will stay with you long after you leave.

Equipment: I recommend a DSLR or mirrorless type camera with lenses which allow you to shoot subjects near and far (for example a 24-70mm and a 70-200mm), a tripod, spare batteries and spare storage cards. This course is designed for Beginner and Intermediate levels.

Why Join Me?
I’ve been a photographer for years, but Venice is the place that continues to inspire me like no other.
Every time I step onto its streets, I feel the same thrill I did on my first visit.

This isn’t just a workshop for me—it’s a passion project. I want to share with you the Venice I’ve come to know: its quiet beauty, its secret corners, its moments of pure magic.

If you’re ready to experience Venice not as a tourist, but as a creator—to see it through your lens and feel it in your soul—then this is your moment.
